I’ll be joined live in the studio this week by Michael Andersen, editor and publisher of the soon-to-be launched publication Portland Afoot, billed as ‘a 10-minute newsmagazine about low-car life in PDX’.
While I’m sure Mike wants to talk about local journalism efforts, both here in PDX and beyond (he’s covering local-news startups around the country for NiemanLab.org, for example), I want to talk about his Twitter reporting digging into the context behind the tragic recent TriMet bus-pedestrian accident & how that might foreshadow Portland Afoot’s direction.
But I’m also fascinated by the stories promised in this part of his bio:
“…he’s impersonated a panhandler, a metal thief and a terrorist; and he mostly gets around on the 4, the 75, the Yellow Line and his silver 24-speed Marin Larkspur, the U.S.S. Enterprise.” A terrorist? Really? I can’t quite see it, can you?

Are there questions you’d like me to ask Mike? Post them as a comment to this post & I’ll include them in the interview itself. And then join us at 1 pm on Thursday on pdx.fm, won’t you?
