I’m thrilled (and more than a little intimidated) to welcome Bobby Roberts to this week’s episode of Redoing Media.
I know, I know — Bobby’s one of the nicest guys around, and would p’shaw my whole ‘intimidated’ schtick.
But it’s true — I’m in awe at how this former broadcast terrestrial radio professional has reinvented himself after leaving his most recent FM radio gig at KUFO. Here, a mere handful of the projects Bobby’s involved in:
- Co-hosting the Cort & Fatboy show Monday-Friday at 10 am on pdx.fm
- His freelance writing gigs at print publications like the Portland Mercury or online-only outlets like Cracked
- The events he co-hosts, whether it’s Lost screenings at the Bagdad or the midnight movies there (this month, it’s T2 on June 4th)
- Or his stage performances, whether in Road House: The Play this weekend or in an upcoming performance of Trek in the Park II: Space Seed.
- His Geek: Remixed musical pleasures (including the intro he’s graciously allowed me to use for the Redoing Media show, no less)
…and if that’s not enough?
We’ll touch on all of these ventures, along with the super-special “major announcement of the future of Portland media” bit Cort & Fatboy have planned for June 9th on their own show.
(Yes, I’ll do what I can to wheedle out hints prior to the 9th — you’d expect nothing less, right? Right.)
But I can promise you that while I might echo the praise for the Roseway (best movie theater in PDX, bar none), I won’t be engaging in comic book fan geekery (that’s so not how I roll, sorry…)
Questions? Bring ‘em, please (whether in email to betsy@redoingmedia.com or in a comment below) and join us at 1 pm this Thursday on pdx.fm, won’t you?
